water avens 'Leonard's Variety'
£11.99
2 Litre Pot
Do you have clay soil? No problem, opt for a Geum and you won’t be disappointed! Nicknamed the water avens, this lovely little perennial thrives in moist soil substrates. It produces rounded mounds of mid-green foliage from which wiry stems, covered in fine hairs, emerge with immense grace. The flowers lovingly arch over at the top of each stem, forming a shepherd’s hook shape, which beckons you to tip them up to get a detailed look. This plant is also great in wildlife gardens as it’s loved by bees.

Care Notes
On arrival, unpack your new garden additions, and, if needed, give a light watering. Your plants are containerised and established, so you can get planting, as long as the ground is not waterlogged or frozen (in these situations, keep your plants in a sheltered position while you wait). For the first year, keep an eye on moisture availability, while roots settle into their new home.
For herbaceous perennials, dig a hole, allowing 2 inches either side of the pot width. Try and ensure you plant your new arrival at the same level in the ground as it had been sitting at in its pot.
