lily of the valley
2 Litre Pot
Lily of the valley is an ideal low-maintenance option for dense ground cover in difficult shady areas. This specimen looks stunning when inter-planted through other spring flowering bulbs. It also shines when it is naturalising amongst woodland perennials. Beautifully scented, striking white flowers are clearly held in high regard – they’re one of the most expensive cut flowers in the world!
Convallaria are perennials with slim leaves and strongly scented flowers. Ideal for low maintenance ground cover.
On arrival, unpack your new garden additions, and, if needed, give a light watering. Your plants are containerised and established, so you can get planting, as long as the ground is not waterlogged or frozen (in these situations, keep your plants in a sheltered position while you wait). For the first year, keep an eye on moisture availability, while roots settle into their new home.
For shrubs, dig a hole, allowing 2 inches either side of the pot width. Try and ensure you plant your new arrival at the same level in the ground as it had been sitting at in its pot. We recommend using a small sprinkle of rootgrow to the base of the planting hole – this will stimulate optimum root development.
