When should I buy plants for my garden?

Container-grown plants can be purchased at any time of the year. Planting is best left to when the soil is warm and the risk of frost has passed, though. April to September is the optimum time to plant for great results in your garden.

Do you grow your own plants?

Yes, we are specialist growers and try to ensure as much of our ranging as possible is grown on site. We prioritise plant health and low plant miles when we buy in plants from other sites. As we are a traditional nursery, plants will be sent out at varying stages of growth depending on the time of year.

Is it ok to buy plants online?

Yes! Buying plants online is an excellent way to compare prices and understand how to care for your plants before you buy.

Is it cheaper to buy plants at a nursery?

If they are produced by a wholesale specialist, who grow large numbers of home-propagated plants each year (such as Worfield Plants) yes, they can be significantly cheaper.

What are your customer advisor opening hours?

Our customer advisors operate between 08.00-16.30 on weekdays.

Can you order live plants online?

All of the plants we sell online are live. You may in some instances (such as when it’s very cold) buy a plant which has gone into dormancy, but you will have a notification to inform you of this and an instruction of how to care for your plant purchase when it arrives.

Can I buy plants from wholesale nurseries?

It depends on who you are buying for. More often than not, you will have to satisfy large minimum order values and prove you are a business.

Can I visit the nursery?

Unfortunately, no. We are not open to the public and we cannot accept visitors on site. The safety of both our staff and customers is our priority.

If I buy in bulk can I get a discount?

We try and ensure our prices are fair and competitive. However, please feel free to drop us an email of your specific requirements and we can look into this further.

Can I leave a review for your products?

Of course! We encourage you to leave a Google or Facebook review if you are happy to. Your feedback is essential to us – it helps us to hone our offering and learn how to provide a better service!

Is it safe to order plants online?

Yes, we put a lot of time into ensuring optimum plant health and quality, so your plant purchases stand the best chance of arriving in excellent condition.

Plant Questions

How big is a 1, 2, and 3 litre pot?

1-litre pots have a 13.5cm diameter, 2-litre pots have a 17cm diameter and 3-litre pots have a 19cm diameter, give or take a few centimetres depending on the shape of the pot.

Can you buy bedding plants online?

Worfield currently specialises in hardy stock only. However, let us know if you would like us to offer some seasonal annuals – we love hearing your feedback!

Are your plants potted in peat free compost?

We use peat-reduced compost across the majority of our range, and to ensure we continuing to strive to be as eco-friendly as possible, we have even introduced a peat-free range too.

Delivery Questions

Can I get plants delivered to my home?

Yes, all plant orders can be delivered contact-free to your home, providing your address meets our delivery area criteria. We deliver to most UK mainland addresses.

Can I delay my order if I'm going away?

Unfortunately, we cannot facilitate holding or delaying the despatch of orders. Orders are currently delivered within 10 working days and are in the hands of Parcelforce once they leave our nursery. If you are going away, we recommend placing your order once you return or providing an alternative delivery address.

I'm local, can I come and collect from your site?
No unfortunately, we cannot facilitate this at present. Both Covid restrictions and site insurance means we cannot allow a member of the public to enter our site without prior approval.
